Dossier concerning Yang Zu'an (楊祖安), a 35-year-old man from Wuxing, Zhejiang, who committed suicide by poisoning in Shanghai on 26 November 1948. According to documentation submitted by his brother, Yang, suffering from illness and weary of life (因病厭世), took poison with suicidal intent and was taken to Zhongshan Hospital, where efforts to save him were unsuccessful. A certificate from Chung Shan Memorial Hospital records that he was brought to the hospital by his brother on the evening of 26 November suffering from acute poisoning by a substance of the barbiturate group and was in a very critical condition.
